The Vacillation Saga
Where is The Vacillation Saga based out of?
St. Louis, MO. Specify the census-designated are where I grew up in, Oakville.
Why does Tammy hate her “Advanced Acting” class so much?
It’s based on a true experience when I was in High school. When I was in high School (Mainly talking around mid sophomore to the end of my senior year), I took a lot of acting classes. they were easy credits, and there was NO homework. In the second semester of my junior year, I started to realize how cliquey and disrespectful the students who took this class were.
Now comes the last semester of my Senior year. The class I wanted was filled up and the ONLY class left was Advanced Acting. I had NO OTHER OPTION but to take it…
I exaggerated the experience in the book, but it was around 75% true.
The experience doesn’t bother me anymore, but the emotions started to dwindle down after I wrote “Vacillating Brown and Black: Vol. 3” while in college.
What order should I read The Vacillation Saga in
(referring to character’s Point of Views)?
You can start with Any of the character’s point of views. The Vacillation Saga is meant to be written to be like that.
But I know most people (such as myself) like to see a “recommended reading order” list.
NOTE: Due to the series NOT being finished, this list will be constantly updated.
- Vacillating Brown and Black: Vol. 1
- Call me maybe: Vol. 1
- Vacillating Brown and Black: Vol. 2
- The Daydream
- Vacillating Brown and Black: Vol. 3
Why is there someone in the book that bullies tammy for “being single”?
The book was ORIGINALLY supposed to be an LGBT Romance novella. The VERY FRIST publication had a character named “Garry Louis” that was not only bullied for being gay but also trying to decide what gay guy to love. Justin Brown or Mitch Black.
When I showed my abusive, controlling, narcissistic father my finished work, he either told me to unpublish it or “get out of my house”.
And when i say he would kick me out for something that small…believe me. HE WOULD.
(His abuse explains why he cheated on my mom with a felon and abandoned his family, but that’s another story)
My mother was on my side, but she had to “agree to disagree” with him because of how abusive he was to us.
So to avoid me being kicked out on the streets in the middle of the midwest November, I changed the characters around and changed everything around. I changed Gary to Tammy, and changed it form being an LGBT romance to a Young Adult Romance.
But the way he was bullied was so intertwined in the story, it was difficult to change. Plus, i was in High School and had a part time job.
So, I kept it in there and changed the reasoning for being bullied.
Note: I still ended up writing a LGBT romance after that. Since my father abandoned his blood-family, his opinion doesn’t matter anymore.
The Opportunity Series
Why do you hate Multi-Level Marking (MLM) so much?
Before you start making illegal income claims (That I WILL report to the FTC), let me say this.
When I was in Amway, I had a GOOD experience. I was treated well, and I was well-liked. The reason why I left the industry and am now against it is that I saw the facts about the industry.
According to two studies done by the FTC and AARP, 75% to 99.6% of people will lose money in MLMs. That means that 0.04% – 25% see a profit. This profit could be as low as one penny.
Some people will say that the FTC statement is a public comment so it shouldn’t be trusted at all. It’s true that they’re public comments, but I encourage you to read the process the FTC takes on public comments. you can find that here: https://www.ftc.gov/policy/advocacy/public-comment-topics-process
You may think “You don’t know how much they make, so you can’t say that!”. Well, yes we do. We have MLM companies’ income disclosure statements. These are statements that come DIRECTLY from the MLM company that show how much the average person makes.
Most of the participants in an MLM make little to nothing.
Long story short, I don’t like MLMs because of the facts. Other people may have different reasons, but I choose to base my opinions on facts.
Does THE OPPORTUNTIY portray how EVERYONE acts in an MLM?
There are VERY RARE circumstances that one would have a good experience in an MLM. Take me for an example: I had a good time in my MLM. I was treated well, and I was well-liked. The reason why I left the industry and am now against it is that I saw the facts about the industry.
More people have a HORRIBLE experience in their MLM. they’re gaslighted, manipulated, and taken advantage of financially. Some people even have PTSD because of their MLM.
We see more stories about people having a HORRIBLE experience in their MLMs than we see people having a good experience.
THE OPPORTUNITY SERIES is NOT all about my personal experience. there are some aspects in it that I took from my own experience, but it has more of other people’s experiences in it than mine.
Let me repeat that.
“…it has more of other people’s experiences in it than mine.“
Is Ali a boy or girl?
Ali is a female. I’ve had this question more often than not because some people read Ali’s name as “aww-lee”.
Ali was supposed to be short for “Alison”.
Since I closed down my publishing house, I will be making the changes to make this more clear.
Which paperback version of The Opportuntiy should I purchase?
If you look on THIS PAGE, you’ll see there are two paperback versions.
One is meant for book clubs, and the other is meant for everyone else.
They have the same story. The only difference is the print size and the addition to book club questions at the end of the Book Club verison.
The Fangs Saga
When will the next book come out?
The book is still in planning. I don’t know where I want the next book to go.
Why does Derek talk about sexual topics A LOT in the book.
I was originally going to reveal this in the second book. since it has been put on pause until I can figure out where I want it to go, I’ll just say it.
Derek is supposed to have a condition called “Hypersexual disorder” where he has an overactive sex drive. Combine that with a virgin college student, and you have Derek.
Why is “The American Way” so short?
It’s not meant to be a typical book.
If I had to classify it as anything, it would be a “short story”. It was originally published 6 months after I quit Amway to share my experiences. I wanted to warn people, but my blog wasn’t getting that much attraction at the time.
The original publication was supposed to be a kindle-exclusive at around 2,400 words. It then became an Amazon bestseller, so I decided to expand it by adding a paperback edition (Since my publishing house will be closing as of Feb. 2022, I will be removing the paperback from sale)
It’s not meant to be an average book. It’s meant to share an experience.
You’re a bestselling author? You’re too young!
There’s no age requirement for publishing a book! It’s just a matter of time when
it becomes a hit and makes it on that amazing list. MY first book, POWERS IN A
TEENAGE WITCH, was published when I was 17 (which is now unpublished as of
2021), and my anti-MLM book, THE AMERICAN WAY, became an Amazon Bestseller in 2019.
Will there be movies or a TV show based on Ian’s books?
Not yet…If you want to see them on the big screen, the best thing you can do
to help us spread the word to your friends and family about the books!
The more people read them, the more chance there is.
Why do your books have typos in them?
I self-published a majority of my books when I was in High School and College, so a LOT of them were NOT seen by an editor.
I am trying to gain the funds to edit all of my past works.
It’ll just take time.
What are you doing now?
Currently, I’m working a full-time job, and going to school for Software
As far as being an author, I am writing when I can. I am doing my best to finish up my existing series.
I have plenty of ideas to implement, but it’s just finding the time to do so.
